Introduction

  • This is a training course for all mine personnel involved in underground mining. Falls of roof have always been a hazard in underground mines. Many miners have lost their lives to roof falls, but these types of accidents are becoming less common as ground control practices have improved. A combination of research, stronger regulations, and best practices by companies have made it less likely that today's miners will be injured or killed by falling rock.
